2011 World Championships Broadcast Schedule

International fans can watch nine games on the ‘Official Internet Stream’

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Wednesday, July 6 – PARIS, FRANCE – The majority of games played at the 2011 IFAF Senior World Championship of American football will be aired on ORF television in Austria and across the European continent by Eurosport 2.

The nine ORF-broadcast games will also be available free of charge to a worldwide audience through the ‘Official Internet Stream of the 2011 IFAF World Championship of American Football powered by ORF’ on thewww.IFAF.org website.  Additional games will be streamed in some territories through a pay-per-view Eurosport 2 webcast.

Austrian national television network ORF and European continental broadcaster Eurosport 2 will combine to show nine of the 12 group games from Graz and Innsbruck in Austria, starting on July 8 and will both feature all four medal and placement games in Vienna on July 15 and 16.  Eurosport Asia-Pacific will also show games featuring Australia and Japan.

Viewers without access to either ORF or Eurosport 2 will be able to watch some games via a web stream accessible through the official IFAF website www.IFAF.org and the official event websitewww.americanfootball2011.com/en/.

Of the 13 games available via the webcast, nine will be streamed worldwide free of charge on ORF and four will be available on Eurosport 2 only in countries within the European broadcasting union only for a charge of €4.90.  Negotiations are underway to increase the international scope of both the TV and web coverage.

For football fans unable to access either the TV coverage or webcast due to international broadcasting restrictions, a daily highlight show focusing on each day’s games will be available, along with previews and features at the IFAF YouTube site www.YouTube.com/IFAFinsider.

Coverage will kick off live on Eurosport 2 on Thursday, July 8, when Germany takes on Mexico in Group A at 7pm local time (1pm EDT).  ORF airs its first game on TV and via a webcast on Saturday, July 9 when host Austria faces two-time world champion Japan in Group B live at 3pm local time (9am EDT).  ORF games will feature a five-camera production for group games and 11 cameras will be dedicated to High Definition broadcasts from Vienna for the medal rounds.
