Congratulations to our newest club Bendigo Dragons

Bendigo DragonsThe Bendigo Dragons Gridiron Club have officially become the 9th affiliated club to join Gridiron Victoria and will field a full team in division 2 in the 2013 Senior Season.

The Dragons are still welcoming players, coaches, support staff and of course sponsors as they build towards their maiden season as part of our expanding state competition.

Gridiron Victoria is now cemented as one of the biggest and most successful competitions in Australia with nine teams across two divisions.

Do you want to represent Victoria?

Victoria will be sending a squad to the 2013 Junior National Championships in Canberra April 16-20 2013.

The 2013 Junior State Team coaching staff will be holding a training session on Saturday 8th December at The Cove, Hendy Street Corio (Buccaneers Ground) from 1pm. You can still make the team if you do not attend this session!

The squad will be training every weekend from mid January up until the tournament with training sessions in both Geelong and also at the Miners ground in Endeavour Hills. Continue reading “Do you want to represent Victoria?”

2012 All Victorian Junior Team

Congratulations to the 2012 All Victorian Junior team as voted by the Junior coaches. The worthy winners are all listed below.

NOTE:  This list recognises the best players of the 2012 Gridiron Victoria Junior Season. It is not the actual Junior State Team – that will comprise players who are selected to compete at the 2013 Junior Nationals. More info about the 2013 State team to come…

Western Foxes Womens Gridiron first ever scrimmage

The Western Foxes, Gridiron Victoria’s first full kit Women’s team had their first scrimmage on Sunday with the offense facing off against the defense.

Whilst the O managed to put up 12 points to half time, the D turned in an incredible 2nd half performance to pull off 3 interceptions returned for touchdowns and an thrilling 18-14!
