The Gridiron Victoria Board provides leadership and approves and monitors the strategic direction, risk management systems, values, business plans and policies of the Gridiron Victoria to uphold corporate reputation and maximise value to its members & partners.

Daniel Noonan– CHAIRPERSON
Elected January 2020

Daniel’s passion for gridiron began as a player for the Geelong Buccaneers. In recent years, has maintained a coaching position of the Geelong Buccaneers men’s team and also is the Head Coach of the Victorian Eagles U19 squad that will return to the National Championships in 2019.

Starting his gridiron career at the age of 15 with the then, Geelong Wildcats, Daniel has been a part of, and held a position within the Geelong Buccaneers Committee of Management, as Treasurer up to 2019. Daniel joined the Gridiron Victoria Board in the finance portfolio in 2018 before taking on the role as chariman in 2020. Daniel is a Director of Geelong Sports Apparel.

CASEY MARIN
Elected January 2019

Casey is a Conveyancing Paralegal with nearly ten years of experience in the legal profession. She has strong legal acumen and an affinity for policy, procedure and governance. Her strong organisational skills, together with her attention to detail, have ensured long term success in providing optimal process reform.

Casey’s involvement in Gridiron has been consistent since 2005, her passion for the game first stemming in her role as a player for the Ballarat Kestrels. Since then, she has involved herself in the Ballarat Gridiron Committee, in a number of roles including Vice President, Secretary and now, President.

Casey holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Monash University.

MATTHEW JENKINS
Elected January 2018

Matthew’s passion for gridiron began as a player for the Northern Blackhawks. After a short break from the game, he returned to Gridiron Victoria playing for the Northern Raiders in 2011. In recent years, Matthew has shown a strong commitment to the development of Women’s gridiron in Victoria. He has maintained the head coaching position of the Northern Raiders women’s team for 6 years, and also been the Head Coach of the Victorian Eagles for 4 years. He was the Quarterbacks coach of the Women’s Australian Outback Team in 2017.

Matthew has also held the position of President of the Northern Raiders from 2014 til present. During his term as President, he, along with his Executive Committee have worked tirelessly on and off the field to create a great club for both players and non playing members.

Matthew is a qualified boilermaker with over 20 years of experience in fabrication and construction industry. He is currently employed with a company specialising in commercial construction and is also self-employed with his business BlackKnight Fabrication. He is married to Rebecca and has a daughter, Chloe.

SARAH-JANE MILLS
Appointed June 2019

Sarah-Jane is a qualified lawyer, with a strong background in corporate affairs, senior stakeholder engagement, strategy, organisational change and project management. Her development of change processes and strategic thinking has been recognised globally within a luxury automotive finance brand with the acknowledgment and utilisation of best practice documentation initially developed for the Australian market. Her passion for driving continuous improvement and strategic initiatives has also seen her succeed in developing change within highly political, multimillion-dollar projects.

S.J’s love of Gridiron began in 2014 when she began playing for the Northern Lady Raiders. Heading into her 6th year, now playing for the Croydon Rangers, S.J has represented Victoria at the inaugural WAGL in 2018 and was also part of the inaugural Women’s Outback team to compete at the 2017 Women’s World Championships in Canada.

Andy Nillson
Appointed January 2020

Andy is an expat American now living in Australia. His two sons are currently playing in the U15 and U19 leagues for the Croydon Rangers. Andy is also the assistant coach for u15 team and the Vice President for the Rangers.

Andy has over 25 years history in manufacturing management having run his own business until recently taking on the role of Production Manager at Oak Grove Furniture. He also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science (1989) from Davidson College and a Master’s Degree in Public Affairs (1995) from the University of North Carolina.

SABINE WAGNER
Appointed June 2019

Sabine is a passionate advocate for gridiron and women in sport. An experienced player, coach and club committee member, she has participated in gridiron both locally and internationally.

In 2010, Sabine began her career at home in Germany, representing Stuttgart and Crailsheim as a player, and eventually representing the German national team. She then moved to Australia to broaden her professional business career as Head of Product and Marketing for Mercedes-Benz Vans and took up the sport again with Melbourne University. She has since played for the Western Crusaders and has represented the state at the national championship as captain of the Victorian team. Now as a player for the Western Crusaders, she is also a member of the club committee and key representative for the dedicated women’s program.

Sabine is committed to growing the women’s game at a regional, national and international level. Her combined experience in sport and business will be used to guide the direction and growth of the women’s division of Gridiron Victoria, and to create a sustainable future for women’s gridiron.
