GV WELCOMES TWO NEW BOARD DIRECTORS

At Gridiron Victoria’s 35th Annual General Meeting on 21st January 2019, Chairman Peter Steve announced the election of Casey Marin and Courtney Farley as directors to the Board of Gridiron Victoria.

Each new Director brings a wealth of experience and knowledge from various avenues of the sports industry and are both passionate about advancing Gridiron in Victoria.

The two new Directors join Richard Garraway, Matthew Jenkins and Daniel Noonan.

Casey Marin

Casey is the President for the Ballarat Falcons and comes to the Board with a wealth of knowledge and experience within the legal profession. She has spent the past 7 years focussing on family & property law and previously held a position with the Ballarat Agricultural Society. Her focus for the sport is for it to grow and GV to be a powerhouse of Gridiron in this nation. In order for that to happen, it needs people who have fresh ideas, who are open to change and re-branding for the overall wellbeing of the sport.

Courtney Farley

Courtney is a member of the Melbourne University Gridiron Club and has been so, since 2011 where she commenced as a player and team medical officer. Outside of football, she is a Registered Nurse, and her work with Project Underdog Rescue Inc. a Melbourne-based animal rescue charity) since April 2015 as a Committee Member and Fundraising and Volunteer Co-ordinator. Her roles have required development of an excellent level of verbal and written communication, leadership, organisational and time management skills.

Casey and Courtney bring strategic, operational and governance experience to the Board. I would like to thank everyone for their nominations this year.

Peter Steve also thanked outgoing Director Robert J. Hunter VI for his enormous contribution on the sport and the Board, “We greatly appreciate the effort of Robert for his dedication and commitment to the Board for a number of years.”
